MISB prides itself on building a strong foundation that will yield future benefits as each child progresses through their education. We are committed to creating programs that are developmentally-focused and enrich the overall learning experience. Students will learn to achieve his or her highest level through structured classes designed to meet each child’s unique needs. MISB supports the student’s natural curiosity through a variety of mediums, including art projects, science, dance and movement, and exploring the environment around them. Additionally, we offer enriching after school clubs such as piano, Aikido, chess, entrepreneurship, ballet, robotics and singing.
MISB’S Mini Preschool program, ages 2-3, is comprised of structured free-play, circle time, an introduction to the alphabet and numbers, outdoor exploration, story time, music, and art. Developmental milestones such as speech and motor skills are refined to prepare them for preschool.
MISB’s Preschool’s program, ages 3-4, is specifically designed to teach students how to communicate and express their feelings and emotions. This is accomplished through free-play, story books that focus on the environment and day-to-day life, and interactions with teachers and other students. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for Reception Class with an emphasis on phonics, the alphabet, and numbers.
MISB Reception Class, ages 4-5, follows the British National Curriculum in the Early Years Program and studies are focused on reading, phonics, and mathematics, with some beginner science and history. Students are encouraged to ask questions and gather facts so that they will become problem solvers, thus becoming critical thinkers. Story time, free-play, and outdoor activities are scheduled throughout the day.
