The day-to-day of a primary student at MISB varies from class-to-class, but below you will find a sample of what a day looks like in our school.
8:15 - 8:30 - Breakfast
Students are invited to start the day with a hearty breakfast in our school cafeteria. Here, students eat alongside teachers and their peers, allowing for social time as well.
8:30 - 10:15 - Core Subject Instruction
In the morning, a child’s mind is fresh and ready to learn! We use this time to study our core subjects, which include English, phonics, reading, writing, maths, Romanian, and/or German.
10:00 - 10:15 - Snack
Each morning, students will receive a healthy snack of seasonal fruits. This is also a time for students to take a mental break and socialize with their schoolmates.
10:15 - 12:00 - Core Subjects Continued
As the morning continues, students enjoy finishing their core subject instruction.
12:00 - 12:30 - Play Time
It’s time to utilize the school’s wonderful outdoor playground and stretch our legs! Students have the opportunity for free-play, which often leads to games of football, basketball and/or tag; or students enjoy the toys on the playground or sit and talk with their friends.
During poor weather, students stay inside playing games and doing fun activities with their peers.
12:30 - 13:00 - Lunch
Each day students are served a 2-course meal consisting of homemade soup and a hot entree. See a sample of our weekly menu.
13:00 - 13:30 - Guided Reading
Our students love to read and it’s an important goal of MISB to increase reading levels in our classrooms. Everyday students will have time to read either with the class or independently.
13:30 - 15:00 - Extra Curricular Classes
Afternoons are when students can flex their creative and physical muscles, enjoying fun and interactive extra curricular programs and classes. These include dance, music, sports, IT, topic, science, PSHE, and/or art.
15:00 - 15:45 - After School Clubs (Long Programme)
The school day may end at 15:00, but students can opt to join our long programme and take part in after-school clubs such as Aikido, chess, singing, entrepreneurship, ballet and piano.
15:45 - 16:00 - Snack (Long Programme)
Students take a break from after-school activities to enjoy a snack with their peers.
16:00 - 17:00 - Long Programme
Students will continue to finish homework, enjoy clubs, and/or participate in other activities such as drama, art, crafts, computers, and/or outside play.
